Love sick is a song I wrote about three years ago when I was experiencing a difficult time personally with my mental health. I was spiralling with anxiety and felt a huge wave of uncertainty surrounding my future and what that meant for me. In the time since this song was written a lot in my life has changed, some for better, some for worse, but what has been significant has been my ability to manage my mental health and so much of that has come from being part of a community that works so hard to dispel the stigmas surrounding these issues. The Uk DIY/Punk scene is a beautiful thing at its heart. We have our issues like all scenes do, but I am confident that we will continue to fight as individuals and as a community to combat those that oppress us. I am truly grateful to be a part of it, as I know are the rest of the band.
With this in mind, most of you will have heard the plight of The ‘Solidarity Not silence’ Campaign. This campaign is led by a group of women who are fighting a claim of defamation made against them by a well-known musician because they chose to speak up and talk publicly about the alleged sexual assaults committed by this person. We as a band stand with #SolidarityNotSilence and do not believe in a world where survivors should be silenced, ever. In an attempt to support this campaign we have decided to sneak out of retirement and release ‘Love sick’ a never before released single, which is available to download from Bandcamp and on Spotify. All proceeds from each download will then go towards the Solidarity not Silence Campaign.
